Quite a large number of drivers have a single GP start to their name. In a sense, this is better than racing 100 times, never getting near the front. They get their names on the record book, and give little room for criticism.Bassi was just a regular Italian driver, but good enough to be called to drive the Scuderia Centro Sud's BRM P57 in the 1965 Italian GP. Bassi qualified next to last and retired.
Then he went back to the more sedate ways of the Italian motor racing scene of the 60's.
