SOON A FULL F-1 BIOGRAPHY OF: BECHEM, KARL GUNTHER Starts:2 Points: 0 Wins:0 Poles:0 Fastest Laps:0 Born 12/21/1921The Formula 2 era (1952-1953) German Grand prix boasted the largest grids of the day, always over 30 cars traveling through the beautiful and dangerous Norsdhleife. This was due to the fact that there was a local German Formula 2 scene, and the locals entered the race in droves. Bechem was one such regular. In 1952 he raced under the pseudonym "Bernhard Nacke", driving a BMW. he qualified 30, and retired. In 1953, he drove an AFM-BMW, qualifying 30th and retiring again. He did have more success elsewhere, driving for Borgward, but a trip to the Carrera Panamericana, where he drove a Porsche left him injured, ending his career. |
