Keizan normally did better than most of his co-nationals who had a crack at the home GP. He qualified in front of a few people every time he raced, and his machinery was normally old. In 1975, for instance, he raced a Lotus 72, which by that time was far from competitive, yet qualified 22 out of 28. In 1973 and 74 he raced a Tyrrell 004, finishing 14th and 13th in that race. There was never any suggestion of his going to race in Europe, so his driving was limited to the local South African scene, where he did really well for many years.
